Dashboards are not management
A metric without an owner, threshold and response is decoration.

Abstract
Dashboards compress information but can distance leaders from the operational causes behind it. Management begins when a signal changes a decision.
Attach a response
A metric becomes management infrastructure only when its movement changes a decision. Unowned averages often conceal urgent exceptions.
Metric contract
For each critical measure, name the source, freshness, owner, threshold, response and review rhythm. Show distributions and exceptions where averages erase risk.
Evidence to retain
Remove measures that cannot trigger inquiry, allocation, intervention or learning.
Challenge the conclusion
Exploratory visibility still helps teams learn. It becomes management infrastructure only when action is designed.
Use this in a working session
Pick the most prominent chart and ask what happens tomorrow if it crosses its threshold. If nothing happens, redesign or remove it.
