This is a fully remote principal role in BELTO Software Services. You will work with a distributed team on consequential client and internal priorities. The work combines hands-on delivery, architecture decisions, peer review, documentation and direct collaboration with commercial and delivery colleagues. We value clear reasoning, secure defaults and systems that remain understandable as they scale. Success means improving the quality and speed of decisions, leaving durable operating assets, and communicating trade-offs before they become surprises. The selection process includes a structured conversation and a practical, role-relevant exercise. We do not use protected personal characteristics in hiring decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Take the technically hardest parts of client delivery and make them work.
  • Set engineering standards for design, testing, security and operability.
  • Review architecture across engagements and stop expensive mistakes early.
  • Lead major refactors and migrations with a reversible plan.
  • Develop senior engineers through direct technical mentorship.

Requirements

  • Deep experience across distributed systems and their failure modes.
  • Demonstrated influence over engineering practice beyond your own code.
  • Ability to argue a position technically and change it when shown better evidence.
  • Directness with clients about technical risk.
  • Currently enrolled at, or holding a degree from, Stanford University or Harvard University.
